Coconut Oil
Coconut Oil is an excellent emollient well known for its ability to soften and re-condition the skin. It is rich in vitamin E and proteins which moisturise and protect your skin and hair.
Shea Butter
Shea Butter is praised for its healing, protecting and moisturising properties. Rich in cinnamon acid, it allegedly protects the skin from UV rays and thus is often included in skin care products for after sun care.
The first choice in natural skin care and body care products, this butter forms a breathable, water-resistant film and is a major natural ingredient for moisturising.
Olive Oil
Olive oil is a natural source of essential nutrients and vitamins that are important to help you look and feel healthy. Olive Oil acts as an antioxidant, which is a substance that prevents oxidation. Oxidation is a process that can produce free radicals, which are chemicals that can potentially damage cells. Antioxidants may prevent premature aging. It is rich in vitamins E and A; olive oil can help improve your skin’s appearance. Its beta carotene content can also help stimulate the growth of new cells, promoting a healthier looking and youthful appearance. The natural healing properties of olive oil can be the best remedy for all types of skin complications because it can penetrate the skin and moisturise dry areas successfully.
Sunflower Oil
Sunflower oil has emollient properties that improve your skin’s ability to retain moisture and is beneficial for individuals with dry or sensitive skin. Sunflower oil is extremely high in vitamin E, which is an antioxidant which helps protect the skin cells from harmful UV rays and other environmental stressors. It has anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce skin redness and roughness. As well as Vitamin E it is high in omega-6 (linoleic) fatty acid. Omega-6 acid helps decrease inflammation in the skin and improves the development of new skin cells. Using sunflower oil regularly can help remove dead cells and impurities, leaving behind smooth, moisturised skin.
Castor Oil
Castor oil acts as a protective barrier on your skin that will shield against harsh environmental conditions. It is also used in massage blends, cleansing and peeling products, ointments and creams for dry skin treatments, psoriasis and eczema and it adds a nice creamy feel to our cold pressed soap bars. Castor oil is a very thick oil with a noticeable odour. High in ricinoleic acid with a high viscosity, like glycerine it acts as a humectant by attracting and holding moisture to the skin.
Jane Harper –
These are lovely soaps that I have used for a long time. They are so different to commercial soaps that leave your skin taut and dry…these leave your skin cleansed but still soft.
